Colorado’s mountains have plenty of activities to get your clients heart racing, but they’re also perfect for kicking back. One of visitors’ favorite things to do in Colorado is to soak in a steamy hot-springs pool, year-round!

Thirty hot springs range from luxurious and family-friendly resorts to a slice of hike-in paradise they have to work for. No matter how your clients get there, mineral-rich waters will soothe their body and mind.

They can zoom down the water slides at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort, Ouray Hot Springs and Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort. Get a spa treatment at Durango Hot Springs, The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs or Strawberry Park in Steamboat Springs.

Book their own private cabin at Dunton Hot Springs, a former mining town turned luxury soaking destination near Dolores. Take in the wondrous views from Orvis Hot Springs in Ridgway, Joyful Journey in Moffat or Iron Mountain Hot Springs (water wheelchairs and accessible ramps available) in Glenwood Springs.

Colorado’s Gold Rush past resulted in some of the country’s most scenic and historic railways, and visitors today can travel routes and see scenery glimpsed by Coloradans since the 1800s.

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad skirts the Animas River as it heads into alpine wilderness. The Georgetown Loop Railroad connects two historic mining towns via high-elevation bridges. The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad crosses the impossibly scenic Cumbres Pass with stunning views in all directions. And the Royal Gorge Route Railroad travels alongside the Arkansas River below one of the world’s highest suspension bridges.

Make sure to check calendars for these and more, with special excursions for fall colors, mystery dinners and holiday celebrations.

From the shimmering lakes to the meandering paths through the majestic Rocky Mountains, Colorado is celebrated for its breathtaking natural splendor. Emphasizing the importance of preserving this beauty, the Care for Colorado Principles presents essential guidelines for travelers.

Invite your clients to explore Colorado responsibly with these important tips:

Know Before You Go

Encourage them to research their destination thoroughly before the trip. Advise them to check weather conditions, trail maps, and any regulations or restrictions in the area.

Stick to Trails

Remind them to stay on designated trails to preserve the environment and protect wildlife habitats. They should also respect camping guidelines and use designated campsites.

Leave It As You Find It

Urge them to leave natural items untouched for others to enjoy. Visitors can take photos instead of collecting souvenirs. Advise them to clean their gear to prevent the spread of invasive species.

Trash the Trash

Emphasize the importance of packing out all trash, including food waste. Encourage the use of disposable bags for waste when necessary and proper burial of human waste. Stress the importance of leaving no trace behind.

Be Careful With Fire

Remind them to follow fire regulations and guidelines. Suggest using local firewood to prevent the spread of invasive species. Encourage them to always properly extinguish campfires to prevent wildfires.

Keep Wildlife Wild

Advise them to respect wildlife by maintaining a safe distance and properly storing food to prevent attracting animals.

Share Our Trails & Parks
Remind them to be mindful of others' experiences and enjoyment of the outdoors. Encourage them to keep noise levels down and yield to other trail users, particularly uphill hikers and bikers, wheelchair users, and equestrians.
